So we took Olivia to the doctor yesterday (18 July 08). She was exactly 2 months and one day old. We walked into the office and the nurse said, "Oh are you here for your 6 month well-baby?" Branden told her no, we're here for her 2 month check up. She didn't beleive him! She asked me and I verified Olivia's age, apparently she thought that Branden was a well-meaning but clueless father, ha! Anyhow, she weighs 14lbs 8oz, our big beautiful 2 month old is the size of a very healthy 4 month old!
The Doc checked her, everything looks good, she's growing well and even though she's big, she is proportionate so no worries there. We talked a lot about vaccinations and he was able to calm my Mommy nerves and assure me that we were doing the right thing by getting her vaccinated. When the nurse gave her the shots I cried more than she did! It ripped my heart out to see her in pain, I wish that I could take all of her pain for the rest of her life but I know that isn't how life works. I have a new-found respect for all Moms, my sister especially. Here are a few pics from the last few weeks:
Matching 4th of July outfits with cousin Payton
Her and Great Grandpa get along pretty well
Daddy doing his best Steve Irwin impression, Crikey!
A little angel on the plane, she's already a traveling baby
Cracking up at Nanna
Cool with Daddy's shades on, and an Elvis lip to boot
Mommy and Olivia, is that spit up on my shirt? Probably!
In other Olivia news - she seems determined to become a thumbsucker! We're trying to replace her thumb with the pacifier whenever we catch her doing it. We shall see how well that works. When she wakes up in the morning she's sucking on her thumb like it's going out of style! It's so cute now but I know it won't be cute a few years from now.
I told you she was serious about this thumb sucking thing
Totally cute though

So glad your blogging, because I'm not the MySpace one in the family! You guys got a very cute little girl there! I'm so happy for you guys. Take it easy and we'll see you soon. Consider me a regular reader as long as your updating. :)
Dana and Brandon,
You are SO BLESSED!
She is a beauty, but I'm preaching to the choir on that one.
It's really good to hear from you. Are you guys really in Moscow now? and if so, for how long. It's really COLD there in the winter.
Pastor and I are okay. We're getting ready to relocate back to Texas in the next 6-9 months. Not many know it yet. His parents both passed away last Fall, his mother we expected as she had been quite ill for some time, but his Dad 2 1/2 months later in December was a complete shock. They had been married 54 years. At least they are not separated anymore.
They left us a small ranch property and we've decided that it's time for David to slow down some.
Please keep in touch and I will check your blog regularly.
Kiss Olivia for me. What a wonderful name for a little girl.
Love,
Julia Womack
